Traditionally, early adolescence has been described and perceived as a time in one’s life to be spontaneous, harmlessly irresponsible, and generally fun-loving. Unfortunately, it’s also a time for increased risk of death and injury. Young teens are beginning to make choices that will affect the rest of their lives. They need skills and information that will help them to make smart choices that will allow them to continue in their efforts towards independence.
